Welcome to GoodTerm. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the GoodTerm application ("App") provided by GoodTerm ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using GoodTerm, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

GoodTerm is a terminal application that allows users to:

• Connect to remote servers via SSH and Mosh protocols
• Monitor system performance and resource usage
• Transfer files using SFTP
• Execute saved command snippets
• Sync configurations across devices via iCloud
• Use AI-powered assistance for command suggestions

3. User Responsibilities

3.1 Authorized Use

You agree to use GoodTerm only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You are responsible for:

• Ensuring you have proper authorization to access any servers you connect to
• Complying with all applicable laws and regulations
• Maintaining the security of your credentials and access keys
• All activities that occur under your use of the App

3.2 Prohibited Uses

You agree NOT to use GoodTerm to:

• Access systems without proper authorization
• Engage in any illegal or unauthorized activity
• Violate any international, federal, provincial, or state regulations
• Infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others
• Transmit viruses, malware, or any other malicious code
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the App

4. Account and Security

GoodTerm stores your server credentials locally on your device using Apple's Keychain. You are responsible for:

• Keeping your device and Apple ID secure
• Maintaining the confidentiality of any authentication credentials
• Notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access

5. AI Assistant Feature

GoodTerm includes an optional AI assistant feature. By using this feature, you agree that:

• Queries are sent to third-party AI service providers for processing
• You will not submit sensitive information (passwords, private keys, confidential data) to the AI assistant
• AI-generated responses may not always be accurate or appropriate for your specific situation
• You are responsible for verifying any commands before execution

6. Intellectual Property

GoodTerm and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by us and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the App
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Remove any proprietary notices
• Use our trademarks without prior written consent

7. Third-Party Services

GoodTerm uses third-party services:

• Apple iCloud: For data synchronization across your devices
• AI Provider: For the AI assistant feature

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Implied warranties of merchantability
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement
• Accuracy or reliability of results

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING:

• Loss of profits or revenue
• Loss of data
• Service interruption
• Cost of substitute services
• Any other intangible losses

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App, if any.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GoodTerm and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the App
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights

11. Updates and Modifications

We may update the App from time to time. Updates may include:

• Bug fixes and performance improvements
• New features and functionality
• Security patches
• Changes to existing features

We may also modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination:

• Your right to use the App will cease immediately
• We may delete your account and associated data
• Provisions that by their nature should survive will remain in effect

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which GoodTerm is established, without regard to conflict of law principles.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
